Looking back on the 2022 Textile Exchange Conference

It was a pleasure to exhibit at Textile Exchange's 2022 Conference: Materials Matter in Colorado Springs this November; thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth! We had an action-packed week listening to insights from some of the industry's incredible leaders, taking part in round-table discussions and reflecting on 20 years of Textile Exchange.

It was incredible to connect in-person with some of our brand partners PANGAIA, STELLA McCARTNEY, Coyuchi, Mantis World and Paradise Textiles and of course meet new friends Moose Knuckles Canada, Prana, Hanna AnderssonEileen Fisher, Walmart, PVH, Stanley/Stella, Scotch & Soda, Nike, Outerknown, DK Company, Ecofashion Corp, The Cotton Group, Natural Fiber Welding and many more.

A few key take aways:

Long-Term Commitment

Focusing on long term goals is the key but in order to complete these goals, short term commitments need to be made. We must look at it as a marathon rather than a sprint and take steps forward in the right direction. We can achieve this by marrying all the methodologies and legislations in a cohesive way that helps brands and supports them with a clear roadmap.

Work as a Team

All for one and one for all is the key. All the stakeholders need to collaborate with each other in perfect harmony. Further, creating partnership even with the competitors needs to be given priority. That also calls for the entire industry to create fruitful collaborations and become a catalyst towards a greener environment.

Back To the Drawing Board

There are so many new innovative fibers out there now. It is always great to learn about them, research them and see if they directly correlate with your future objectives as well. If not, no worries it is still a learning curve as all these are mini steps towards a greater sustainable future.
