The challenge

Triarchy recognised the demand from their customers who wanted to see transparent, accessible information on the supply chain of their jeans. Understanding the provenance of their denim, from farming the cotton seed to the shelves in-store was important to the brand, as was conveying this in an exciting, engaging way. Triarchy wanted to ensure that the sustainability claims made about their products were valid, credible and supported by third-party data. Not only this, the company's goals to achieve carbon neutrality, meant that they were looking for a solution that could help them offset their impact, whilst simultaneously investing in projects that resonated with their brand and customers’ values.

The Solution

We partnered with Triarchy to provide them with complete transparency about the information on their supply chain and integrated this into their e-commerce website. The brand used the Know Your Impact service to perform a robust Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to accurately measure the impact of their denim collection and to visualise this in an engaging way.

Triarchy also uses the Simplizero Ecommerce platform to offset the unavoidable carbon emissions of their products and to fund a portfolio of projects that match their supply chains’ location and brand values.

The Green Story LCA consulting process

The Green Story team worked with Triarchy to prepare and collect the required supply chain data
We then provided the analysis and report that showed the environmental footprint (including carbon) of Triarchy’s supply chain compared to the production processes of a conventional item.
The individual impacts of Triarchy’s producers were mapped and integrated onto their e-commerce website via Green Story APIs and plug-ins. This included homepage and product pages to provide a consistent and engaging customer experience throughout.
Through Green Story’s Simplizero Ecommerce platform, Triarchy were able to offset the unavoidable carbon emissions of their products. Our team were able to provide a list of recommended carbon offsetting projects that best matched their supply chain locations. All of these projects are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
We integrated the Simplizero Ecommerce plug-in into Triarchy’s e-commerce website which allows the brand to be transparent about its verified carbon offsetting projects. Following integration with Simplizero, customers also receive a post-purchase email about the specific impact that the offsetting has in relation to their carbon footprint.
Our team continues to provide ongoing support for assessing the brand’s supply chain impact.
Triarchy uses the sustainability data provided by Green Story on its social media platforms and communication channels, such as emails, to enhance its green narrative. They use the information to send updates to their customers about their total impact at the end of the year too which builds further loyalty and engagement.


A live impact counter on Triarchy’s sustainability page
This shares the overall impact of the brand’s environmental performance. We share a story on each metric - for example, liters of water saved, kg of CO2 emissions avoided or kWh of energy conserved. We also communicate equivalences such as days of drinking water saved and km of driving emissions avoided.
Customized widgets on individual product pages
The Green Story team have designed each product page on to showcase customised Know Your Impact widgets that tell a story about each specific sustainability metric on a per-product basis in a relatable way.
Offsetting projects aligned to Triarchy’s mission
We help the brand communicate on each product page the carbon offsetting involved in each product as well as the projects they are funding so that customers have full visibility. Triarchy communicates offsetting milestones on additional channels such as social media and newsletters.
